Hi! I am still a little confused about this question because the conclusion states that microwaves are the ultimate problem, and this says that the zones created by the microwaves maybe an alternative explanation. Wouldn’t that still mean that microwaves are the culprit though?

Hi, E still allows heat to be the cause, which is caused by microwaves. If E were true, that would mean that there is greater heat in certain areas, which would be the cause of the lower enzyme rather than the microwaves.

Yes but microwaves are the cause of the greater heat in certain areas? So, at the end, microwaves are still the cause?

Microwaves are the ultimate cause of the heat yes, but this does not show that they destroy the enzyme. The conclusion here is that it is the microwaves, not the heat. The right answer undermines this by showing that it actually is the heat, and that microwaves are only able to destroy the enzyme via heat. That is, microwaves without heat are useless, but heat without microwaves would be able to destroy the enzyme.

A better way to say this may be that the heat is still the actual cause, regardless of what causes the heat in turn.
