I didnt go with D because theres a difference between an authority and expert

Went with E on this one. Also I cant comment on other peoples comments again

    @Lucas, Yes, the correct answer is (E) "taking for granted that experts do not act counter to what, according to their expertise, is in their best interest." (D) is incorrect not necessarily because of the word "authority," but because the passage does not provide any information on authorities besides doctors.
