Why not C?

Hi there, thanks for your post. This is an Errors in Reasoning question. The stimulus presents an argument. The conclusion is: "This trend will undoubtedly continue if the average age of these nations' populations continues to rise." The premise given in support is "since older people have fewer reasons to save than do younger people." Notice that this reasoning is based on the relative number of reasons older people may have for saving compared to younger people. But isn't it possible that an older person could have just one reason to save - for example, to meet a rising personal health care cost - that is nevertheless stronger than the ten younger people's reasons for wanting to save? This flaw is pointed out in answer choice (D). Answer choice (C) is irrelevant, because the stimulus says "if the average age continues to rise" - we don't need statistics showing that the average age of the populations is rising. In this question, I had trouble finding the conclusion since I didn't feel like there was a really strong conclusion indicator. When questions have weak conclusion indicators, is there a way to find the conclusion simply?
