Rifka: We do not need to stop and ask for directions. We would not need to do that unless, of course, we were lost. Which one is the premise and which one is the conclusion? My understanding is: P: We would not need to do that unless, of course, we were lost. C: We do not need to stop and ask for directions.

    I think you're reading that correctly. She's trying to convince him that they do not need to stop, the reason for that being that they only need to stop if they're lost (which she implicitly assumes they are not).
