I thought the same thing until I re read the two responses. Joel's first sentence explains the definition of what a narrative is and then states that myths are not generally told in modern world because there are no longer bodies of generally accepted truths Giselle comes back and says of course there are myths and uses the example that we see human bodies as machines. She states that it may not be a narrative but what medically trained professional could deny this myth? If there was a group of people who believe this so called myth, wouldn't it question the definition that Joel gave? He did state that " there are no longer bodies of generally accepted truth" Giselle just proved that there IS a myth that is considered a generally accepted truth.

Yes, Giselle is providing a counter example; Joel says there's no myth and Giselle says there is, and here's the example of it. B says that she's providing an analogy, but she's actually providing an example, rather than an analogy.

Can you confirm what part of Joel's definition of a myth is being called into question? Thx.
