Why is B wrong? He responds to the critics by saying the hormones can be handled by humans with no side effects but then wouldn't the hormones have to be something similar humans have ingested before?

I don't think so. There no reason that since something doesn't impact humans that we must have eaten it before. More so, that's not what B says. B says specifically that it must be used in contraception for humans, and we have zero basis to think that the biologist thinks that.
