Hi! I was wondering if someone could explain why we can safely eliminate E. I chose that for my answer because I thought that "some members of the computer science department" meant professors, and if they weren't respected by academics in other departments, then it undermines the conclusion that the dean of computing must be a professor from the c.s dept. Was my mistake made when I confused "member" with "professor" for the answer choice? Thank you in advance for the help!

    Hi @Julie-V, Thanks for the question! (E) doesn't weaken the argument because even if some members of the CS department aren't respected by academics in other departments, this doesn't exclude the possibility that others are respected by academics in other departments. Thus, it's still possible that the dean of computing must be a professor from the university's computer science department if the only people who hold doctoral degrees and know about computers are members of that department.
