Why is C wrong?

Can you please explain why C is wrong given that the passage says "To insist on trying to understand nonscientific cultures by the methods of Western science is not only distorting, but is also an expression of an attempt to maintain a Eurocentric cultural chauvinism: the chauvinism of science."

    Hi, this is a view held by those mentioned in the fourth paragraph, who are critics of the view in the third paragraph. We want to know that those who hold the view in the third paragraph would think.
