I diagrammed this question correctly but I chose D and forgot to recheck option B. Once I got it wrong, I understood it as option D is wrong because it is basically too extreme. Because although DTS --> ACDIO and the contrapositive will be not ACDIO --> not DTS and SKA --> not ACDIO We can't say the most effective democracy is one that is the most scientifically unsophisticated. We only have information about the survival (and not its effectiveness) of democracy. So at the very least (i.e. easier to support), we can agree that scientific advancement is a threat to democracy. Does this makes sense?

    Hello @Ileri, Yes, you are right that answer choice D is too extreme and is a trap answer. While, common sense might lead one to think that the more knowledgeable the citizenry is, the more effective the democracy is, in Must be True questions, the correct answer choice must be directly supported by the text. You have to train yourself to leave common sense at the door and only go by what is directly supported. Effectiveness is not mentioned while survival is, so that answer choice is not directly supported from the text. On the other hand, we have a direct link between scientific advancements and being unable to develop informed opinions, which we know is necessary condition for democracy's survival. Therefore, the scientific advancements are threatening to democracy.
