So here, for example, the original second sentence is “the body of information against which the public evaluates the plausibility of each new media report comes, however, from what the public has heard of through the mass media.” So let’s try to break this down. The public is evaluating new media reports and how believable they are. And there’s a body of information they use to evaluate those reports. And so that body of information?
