This question took way too long. I had to go through each answer choice and find the correct part of the passage to see if it was right. this was a very easy question but time-consuming. It helped a little that I had already underlined the keywords like "increase, decrease, more or less" but I was wondering if there is another strategy to help move the process along.

How would answer "A" not be a reversal as well?? I was in between "A" and "E" because they both seem like incorrect reversals. Both choices start with heat before carbon. Can you help me understand this?

A is directly stated in the passage- the middle tells us that the process works in the positive or negative effectively- that an increase in carbon leads to more rain and more carbon washing out of the system and that a decrease in carbon does the opposite. However, regardless of of whether carbon increases or decreases, the causal pathway is always that a change in carbon leads to a change in heat, whether that change is negative or positive. A change in heat never leads to a change in atmospheric carbon. That is: the process flows the same direction regardless of whether there is an increase or decrease, but it does not reverse itself.
