I know it isn't the correct answer, but I'd like to ensure I am graphing (A) correctly in case that construction appears again. Thank you, Daniel

    "No self-motivated salespersons who are not highly successful are well organized." Remember, that "No As are Bs" is diagrammed as follows: A ==> not B B ==> not A In terms of "if/then" our general principle is: If self-motivated salespersons who are not highly successful, then not well organized. SMSnotHS ==> not WO Contrapositive: If well organized, then not self-motivated salespersons who are not highly successful. WO ==> not SMSnotHS Hope that helped!     Why does "not HS" stay "not HS" in the contrapositive? Shouldn't it be negated?

    The variable is "SMSnotHS" = self-motivated salespersons who are not highly successful. When you negate a variable, you want to negate the main verb. The general principle reads: "If one is a self-motivated salesperson who is not highly successful, then he is not well organized." So BEING highly successful is not the main verb of the condition. It is BEING a self-motivated salesperson who happens to not be highly successful. So when we negate the sufficient condition "SMSnotHS," it becomes "not SMSnotHS," which reads: "not a self-motivated salesperson who is not highly successful." Hope that clears things up!     Hi I have difficulty in diagramming conditionals where Sufficient or Necessary condition is itself composed of a conditional sentence like this one (A). I read your explanation but wonder if it is wrong to diagram it this way: No self-motivated salesperson who are not highly successful: SM and not HSS ----> not WO WO -----> not SM or HSS Because (People who) is a conditional indicator and (No X is Y) is also another conditional indicator so the Suf. condition is in itself a conditional sentence. I find diagramming this double conditional sentences so challenging. Please explain more why is my understanding wrong.
