Hi, Could you explain how I can determine when a statement is a "AND" statement. For example, for this question I diagramed: Economy Weak --> Prices Remain Constant Prices Remain Constant-->Unemployment Increases Instead of, Economy Weak--> Prices Remain Constant AND Unemployment Increases Can you explain to me what types of words or clues I should look for when writing a "AND" or "OR" statement?

@Rosibeth23, Let's take a look. EW-->PRC and UR UR-->ID ID If we look at the second statement, the contrapositive states that when investment isn't decreasing, unemployment isn't rising. /ID-->/UR Based on the first statement, we know that if unemployment does not rise or prices do not stay constant, the economy isn't weak. Thus, we know that it has to be true that the economy isn't weak. Since this is a must be false question, we want something that contradicts the conclusion that the economy isn't weak. (A) must be false because we know that the economy isn't weak (from our conclusion), and the stimulus tells us that investment isn't decreasing. There is no way for either portion of this answer choice to be true, so that's why it's the correct choice and must be false. Does this make sense? Let us know if you have any other questions!

"Although" is just stating that something else is happening when the economy is weak. That's why we can diagram it as EW-->PRC and UR "Although" doesn't signify a conditional relationship between PRC and UR, so we can't write EW-->PRC and PRC-->UR because both PRC and UR are necessary conditions for EW occurring.
