Conclusion vs Intermediate Consclusion

I made the assumption that the first sentence was the conclusion and the last sentence was the intermediate conclusion. But, the correct answer choice says "conclusion" and then goes on to describe the intermediate conclusion (the last sentence) not the passages actual conclusion (the first sentence). Should my thought process be, a premise can support a intermediate conclusion that then goes on to even further support the actual conclusion?

    Hi @JackT, Thanks for the question! Yes, that’s the correct way to think about it! Intermediate conclusions are statements which are both supported by a premise or premises, but not the main conclusion; they go on to support the main conclusion. Hope this helps!
