Hi @Naz,
I still see answer choice b as a correct answer bc if we follow the chain of reasoning, the vertical mixing of seawater is what caused decline in nutrients for phytoplankton; this as a result affected zooplankton which consequently affected the whole food chain. This supports the end conclusion.

Hello @Dalaal,
I am not Naz, but I think I can help!
They pulled a cheap trick on you here. Make sure you pay very close attention to the wording of each answer choice.
It is not the vertical mixing of seawater that restricts the nutrients available to phytoplankton.
It is the lack of vertical mixing that causes this problem. This is the effect of global warming.
"A rise of just two degrees PREVENTS the vertical mixing of seawater from different strata. This restricts the availability..."
If B had said "It is intended to provide an example of the ways in which feeding habits depend on the vertical mixing of water," then it might be correct.

I eliminated answer B because it's not discussing vertical mixing at all - it's discussing zooplankton and phytoplankton.
So, it certainly can't be an "example of the ways..."
It's out of scope.
